A Short Simple Reminder

A recent personal experience has happened in my life recently, and it’s truly brought out the saying “don’t text, talk instead.”
You see, with everything happening in the world, it isn’t only young people going through a tough time; it’s our parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles, even those that we work with or those who teach us at school. No matter how many people a day they could be around, or how much therapy or self care they give themselves, sometimes they really aren’t okay at the end of the day. That doesn’t go with without saying however, that young peoples mental health situations are nothing to care about, because they are more than important.
It‘s okay to not be okay.
Please, speak up to someone, anyone. Whether they’re a stranger down the street or your number one friend, talk to someone face to face or over the phone, don’t go sending thousands of text messages and expect all your emotions to be out in the open. Let someone see how you’re feeling. Let them feel like they are in your shoes in that very moment. Let them hear your pain in your voice. Let them be your shoulder to cry on.
You are loved. You are cared for. There are people out there that would miss you if you ever left this beautiful life. Everything in this point of time may feel like it’s crumbling down around you, and that everything is too much.
But you know what isn’t too much? Knowing that you are safe and happy and healthy.
